KIOREROA PORT.
PROVISION OF ACCESS. (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, fhis day. "',.: A definite forward move towards the provision of roading access to the deep water port at 'Kioreroa was made at the Whangarei Count}' Council meeting to-day, when it was decided to contribute "£250. Mr. Hayward reported on the conference with Mr. H. A. Baker, inspecting engineer of the Public Works Department, and said that it must be made clear that the Department would make £2400 available when the local bodies did their share towards the construction of the road. The general feeling was that the borough and county council should find £1000. A ViO-50 oontribution had been suggested by the Mayor, Mr, Jones. The chairman, Mr. L. Webb, moved that the council contribute £200 after the end of the financial year, and tho motion was carried unanimously.
