YOUNG VIOLINIST.
YEHUDI MENUHIN'S TRIUMPH. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 28. The 17-year-old violinist Yelmdi Memihin, who will shortly visit Australia and New Zealand under Messrs. J. and N. Tait's management, filled the Albert Hall at a concert, many Australians being present. Bach's "Chaconne" and Lalo's Spanish symphony dominated the programme. Encores were numerous. The audience invaded the platform after the performance. Critics extol the perfection of the recitalist's tone and purity and simplicity of his style, hailing Memihin no longer as a "wonder 'child" but as "a mature artist—the foremost of his generation."
