HORSES FOR SOUTH.
F. J. SMITH'S TRAM. j ! OWNER'S OPINION OF NELL YOLO. Chancellor is at present suffering from a bruised heel, according to his trainer, F. J. Smith, and* the little pacer is unlikely to fulfill his engagements at the New Zealand Metropolitan meeting next week. This is bad luck for his connections, as the son of Peterwah was working in great stvle at Takanini, and appeared to have bright prospects of winning a race in the south. Wrecker and Worthy Light are to leave at the end of the week to compete at Addington, and both geldings are in firstclass order. Both pacers won a double at the recent Auckland meeting, and should hold their own next week. Nell Volo is slightly sore at present, and her owner-trainer, F. J. Smith, is at present undecided about taking her south. Should she recover and make the trip her owner is prepared to race any trotter in the Dominion, best three out of five "flying miles," for a stake up to £500. N.Z. TROTTING CUP. SATIN KING NOT TO START. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Satin King will not be a starter in the New Zealand Trotting Cup.
