ROYAL TOUR.

DUKE OF GLOUCESTER.

Visitor Proving Wonderfully Popular.

CALL AT BOYS' FARM SCHOOL,

(United ".A.—Elcctric Telegraph—Copyright)

(Received 10 a.m.) PERTH, this day. The Duke of Gloucester on Sunday visited the Fairbridge farm school and inspected all. the buildings. He received a most enthusiastic welcome from the 400 boys of the Fairbridge farm school, who were in shorts and bare-footed. They ran, cheering, after his car as he set off for Pinjarra. After two days of official functions the Duke of Gloucester had a comparatively easy programme on Saturday, beginning with a levee and ending with a visit to a trotting meeting. Fourteen addresses of welcome were presented to the Royal visitor by bodies ranging from the Road Board Association to the Salvation Army. He adopted the practice of making one general reply. His Royal Highness had a most interesting time at Yanchep on Saturday night. He danced four times with a handsome blonde, Miss Bess Edwards, whose father is chairman of the Reception Committee. Journalists state that the Duke is wonderfully popular. He eschews excessive formality, is friendly and unassuming, less the man of the world than was the Prince of Wales, and less serious than the Duke of York. He has a keen sense of humour and is not too fond of dancing.
