MILK BELOW STANDARD.
FINES AT ONEHTTNGA. Failure of samples of milk to comply with the required standard resulted in four defendants appearing before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at the Onehunga Court this morning. The defendants, who pleaded guilty, and were represented by Mr. Blomfield. were Mrs. F. Montgomerie, Mrs. J. W. Thompson, A. "VV. Montgomerie and L. S. Montgomerie. The latter was also chnrged with selling milk deficient in milk fat and milk deficient in solids other than milk fat. Mr. N. S. Furniss, of the Health Department, said that an analysis made showed 50 parts per million of visible dirt, and more in some eases. The defendants had been previously warned about the condition of the milk. The defendants were each fined £2, and costs.
