MEDICAL HOCKEY PLAYERS. HELP TO ACCIDENT VICTIMS. When the Australian hockey team was on its way to Rotorua on Monday, two of its members, Messrs. Stening and Leggett, who are medical students at Sydney University, were called upon to show their knowledge of surgery in attending to the victims of a motor accident at Pokcno, when the express crashed into a, car. A heartfelt tribute was paid by relatives of the injured people on Wednesday. Just before the match Australia v. Piako was about to begin, the following telegram was handed to the manager on the ground: "Doctors Australian hockey team: Patiente show slight improvement. Owe'their lives to you. Our loving and grateful thanks to you all." Tho telegram was signed by relatives. •
