The Poverty Bay amateur championships were decided during the evening, and as a result the following were chosen to represent the district at the New Zealand amateur championships :—S. Muchett (mid-dle-weight), V. Davy (welter), and M. Callaghan (light). DAL COSTA BEATEN AGAIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. There was a fair attendance at the Town Hall on Saturday night when Clarrie Rayner (8.13J) (New Zealand), beat Dal Costa (8.10J) (Australia), on points in a 10rotind contest. The boxers gave a fine display of fast, open fighting, making the pace hot, but, although the Australian was game he couM not overcome the extra weight and superior strength of the New Zealander. Rayner built up a good lead in the earlier rounds, but toward the end Costa scored points with lefts to the jaw, but his blows lacked sting.
