MANUKAU AMATEURS. Riding the best race of his career Fred Markhum won the 15-mile race, promoted by the Munukau Amateur Cycling Club for the Cotter Cup on Saturday. The event was the ninth annual race for the Cotter Cup, which was presented to the club in l!)2(i by Mr. E. W. Cotter, who now resides at Chrlstchurcli. The Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club held two races on Saturday. The junior championship was out to Albany and back with handicap, and fastest time taking the championship. Lydtord (scr):, 54.51. PAPATOETOE CLUB. The Papatoetoe Cycling Club held a novel 15-mile race to Howlck and hack on Saturday. The riders were restricted to a 74 gear and all started together, Continental fashion. Results were :—Fastest time : O. White, 47.55, 1 ; S. Pinfold, 47.50, 2; R. Francis, 47.57, 3. Handicap.—lt.
