PAKURANGA HUNT.
POINT-TO-POINT MEETING. I The annual point»to-point meeting of j tlia Pakuranga Hunt was held at Pigeon Mountain, Pakuranga, on Saturday afternoon. Tlie course, which was about three miles, was a typical one, the hill in the baekgroiuid affording the spectators a fine view of tlie racing. The attendance was up to usual standard and included {visitors from tlie Waikato, Maramarua land the Thames Valley districts. The , open point-to-point race was won by Blooming Heather, who beat Slump comfortably. Results are:— MEMBERS' LIGHT-WEIGHT RACE. Weight 11.0. PINTO (Mr. J. W. Short), carr. 12.0— Mr. O. Loom, Gold Idem, l'into, Dominican. Won by two lengths. ! CHILDREN'S NOVELTY SCURRY. ' A new event was added to the programme this season—the Children's Scurry for children under 15 years, ponies K! n.imls and under. There were a dozen competitors. The race was decided over about a furlong and resulted as follows:—Master Dick Moore's Bubbles 1. Master Graham Guy s Diamond 2 and Master Owen Flnlay s Tainaki Girl :s. ... .> in presenting the trophies at the conelusion of the meeting, the master, Mr. 11. Bullock-Webster, expressed the club s gratitude to tlie fanners who had kindly granted permission to conduct the steeplechases over their land.
