BIRTHDAY BALL.

MISSION TO SEAMEN. The third annual ball of the Flying. Angel Mission to Seamen was ihehl in tho clubroonis on Saturday evening and was attended by a large number of guests. The social hall, library and staircase were decorated with brass bowls of arum lilies, while the supper tables were beautifully set with daffodils and silver • bowls of Iceland poppies. The guests were received by Commander C. H. T. Palmer, chairman of the b;ill committee, and Mrs. Palmer, tho hitter wearing black panne velvet, relieved with silver. The Rev. H. K. Vickery and Mrs. Vickery assisted in receiving the visitors, Mrs. Vickery wearing petunia moire silk, trimmed with shades of deeper toned velvet. The committee were: Mesdames F. Burges Watson, 11. K. FLEXILE GUILD. Nearly 200 members and friends of the Flexile Guild spent an enjoyable evening on the occasion of the guild's annual social. The dance musjc wftH p'ayed by Mrs. Rossittor, Mr. Lan Rossitter and Mr. Le Bherz. . Elocutionary numbers by Mr. Maurice Stltt Were greatly appreciated. Masters of ceremonies for the evening were Messrs. Hunt and Bailey. The supper speeches evinced a strong desire on the part of the speakers for continued growth and improvement of the guijd. Mr. Reeve, in speaking to the secretary's annual report, mentioned the foresight, shown by Mr. 11, Dearsly, president, in instituting the guild years ago. The president assured the members tlutt the advancement of the guild was one of the chief motives that inspired hint to continue the work, despite! his increasing age.
