BLACK RETAINS S.A. TITLE. ALDRED'S MIDDEEMORE WIN W. LAWSON BEATS R. McCRYSTAL. The South Auckland golf tournament terminated at Hamilton on Saturday, when Jack Black retained his title by defeating lan MacEwan after a close game. The championships were continued on several local links, and a notable surprise was the defeat of R. itfcCrystnl at Titirangi by Wilfred Eawson. AUCKLAND CLUB. The third and final round of the Bloomfield Bowl was played at Middlemore, and • as none of the competitors improved thair aggregate score the leader in the previous .two rounds, J. V. Aldrcd, wo- the trophy. Aldred, playing on a 6 handicap, had net rounds of 71 and 73 to his credit, and did not improve on Saturday, his gross being 82 E L. Bartleet, who had a net 70 in the previous round, had to do a 7. • gross to wrest the lead from Aldred. and when he went out in 39 and obtained ; a two at the tenth, his prospects were rosy. However, he took sat the thirteenth and made other mistakes to finish { in 79. Aldred's two best cards totalled 144 and • the next best were G. C. Henderson 140. and K. L.
