" PEEPING TOM."
REPORT FROM AVONDAUE. For the past two vears, the home of Mr. C. T. Shaw, 44, Rosebank Road, Avondale, has been periodically visited by a man believed to be a "Peeping Tom." On Friday night a eon of Mr. Shaw and a boarder, Mr. S. Arnot, chased a man, who dived through a hedge and disappeared in the darkness. Mr. Shaw said to-day that shortly after nine o'clock on Friday evening there was a tapping on the window of the bedroom' occupied by his three daughters. Mr. Arnot saw the man from a verandah, but by the time he <rot round the side of the house the man had made off, dashed through a hedije, and disappeared. About once a, month, said Mr. Shaw, somebody tapped at the window of his daughters' bedroom. One girl was 23, one 14, and the other younger. The girls had become nervous because of these periodical tappings.
