ASSAULT CHARGE.
AFFRAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. ELDERLY DOMESTIC IX COURT. (By Telsgraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A charge of assaulting Seth Snoswell so as to cause actual bodily harui was preferred in the Magistrate's Court to-day against Edith Firth (58;, domestic, who was remanded to September 11. Bail of £50 and one surety of £50 was allowed. Displayed in Court was a garden fork, which the police alleged was a weapon used in an affray. Complainant is now in hospital for treatment, his nose having been broken. Counsel said he understood the charge might be reduced. The police said further inquiries wn<ild be made.
