BUSINESS KEEPS UP, GOVERNMENT STOCKS STILL SELLING. Business on the Auckland Stock "Exchange was quite good this morning, and a substantia! lisc of sales was recorded at the morning call. Government stocks ngain figured in the business done, with late rates fully maintained. In the banking section Reserves were scarcely so tirni, and there were sellers at last sale price, u.iniely, £U 10/. New Zealands were steady between £2 7/ and £2 7/6. Insurances were again a strong section, with little change in values. The good progress of the Australian wool sales has probably benefited Goldsbrough. Morts, and buvers moved up to £1 10/3. Amongst the miscellaneous issues Consolidated Brick moved up sharply, with buyers at 0 '3 and sellers asking 10/. Mining Shares Selling. Mining shares dominated the business at noon, seven transactions being concluded. Goldfields Dredging and Matakis maintained their recent values, and Broken Hill Proprietary recorded an advance of '2,',H, compared with the last local sale three weeks ago Government bonus. 1955, touched a nowhigh point with a rise of 2/6, after which holders were asking £111, and buvers remained at £110 10/.
