METROPOLITAN CLUB. BLUE MOUNTAIN SCORES. WRITER AND WILD GUY WIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRrSTCHURCH, Saturday. Grand National carnival week was opened with spectacular trotting at Addington to-day, glorious weather attracting a good attendance, while the track was in perfect order. Very fast times were recorded. Blue Mountain, owned by Mr. M. J. Moodabe, of Auckland, and trained by J. S. Shaw at Addinaton, scored a brilliant win in the August Handicap, and qualified for the New Zealand Cup. His time was 4.18.2-3, while the back-marker, Roi L'Or, whom he beat only by a head, registered 4.14 3-5. This is the third time he has' done better than 4.15 for two miles, and it is a record feat for New Zealand, although Harold Lo,gan has actually recorded faster time. The
