PHILISTINES' CLUB.
A large number of members and friends of the Philistines' Club attended the fortnightly social evening, held in the Amateur Operatic Society's hall on Saturday. The chairman for the occasion was Mr. Wilfred Wright, who was accompanied by Mrs. Wright, wearing u frock of French violet crepe suede, relieved with silver lame. Thoroughly enjoyable were the vocal, elocutionary and instrumental numbers supplied by Mrs. Harold Owers, Miss Una Moore. Messrs. Alan McElwain, Robert G. Simmers and J. C. Pelham. Messrs. M. Stratton and P. Ferguson gave a demonstration of fencing. The sketch entitled "Sherlock Holmes" was given by Miss Edna Herrick, Mr. Barton and the Rev. Jasper Calder. Mrs. C.
