SPINE INJURED.
FOOTBALLER AT HASTINGS. NATIONAL BANK EMPLOYEE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. A bank employee, O. K. Packer, while playing in a junior grade Rugby football match on Saturday, received serious injuries to the spine as the result of an accidental kick as he went down on the ball. After attention by St. John Ambulance officials, Packer was removed to hospital, where'he underwent an X-ray examination, but the exact nature and extent of the injuries is not yet known. He is employed on the staff of the National Bank, having been recently transferred. ' His parents are believed to reside in Wellington.
