SERVICE CAR CAPSIZE.
PASSENGER INJURED. The Waiuku service car, driven by Mr. P. V. Flexman, capsized on the Beach Road, Papakura, last evening. One passenger, a cook at the Kingseat Mental Hospital, Mr. S. W. Horning, aged 52, was severely injured. Dr. G. W. Lock was summoned, but it was almost impossible to examine the injured man on the roadside owing to the heavy rain, and he was removed to a private hospital at Papakura, and after further examination was removed to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John Ambulance. The spot where the accident happened is a narrow part of the road, built up across a depression. One of the wheels went over the edge, and despite the efforts, of the driver the car turned over. The other passengers received a severe shaking. Among them was a nurse, who, despite her condition made things as easy as possible for Mr. Horning, and was able to help Dr. Lock when he arrived. Later the passengers were taken to Auckland by a taxi.
