MELBOURNE, July 1. The two principal events at the Williamstown races yesterday were both won by prominent candidates for the Victoria Grand Nationals to be run at Flemington next Saturday, and on the following Saturday. Precocious, winner of the Grand National Steeplechase in 1932, scored in the Williamstown Steeplechase, and Baanya, who last season won eight races and ran third in the Grand National Hurdles, was successful in the Port Phillip Hurdle Race. . • Results:— WILLIAMSTOWN STEEPLECHASE, of £. 500.
