A REMARKABLE RECORD.

AGA KHAN'S SUCCESSES. Felicitation's victory in the Gold Cup last week adds to the Aga Khan's already remarkable record in the annals of the British turf. He first became .prominent in English racing in 1922, when his colours were carried by the brilliant filly Mumtaz Mahal, but since then he has won practically all the important events, while in stakes ho has amassed the formidable amount of £370,843 to the end of 1933. He was at the head of the winning owners' list on four occasions in 1923, 1929, 1930 and 1932. He entered the ranks of breeders in 1925, having only one winner, who earned £0357, but lie soon became a force in this sphere, for to the conclusion of the 1933 season he had bred 74 winners of 119V2 races, and £173,380 10/, and he was at the head of the breeders' list in 1932. The Aga Khan has been a liberal supporter of racing, and at the annual yearling sales held by Tattersalls he has been a plucky buyer. He has bid more than 10,000gs for a youngster, and paid on one occasion 14,500g5. Of the classic races the only one in which he has to record a success is the One Thousand Guineas, for which he lias been second and third, with Mumtaz Mahal and Firouze Mahal respectively. He won the Derby in 1930 with Blenheim, and secured second places with Zionist and Dastur; he won the St. Leger with Salmon Trout and with Firdaussi, Dastur being second on one occasion. Ho also owned the fourth horse in the same racc. Zainbo and Felicitation havo also gained second places. Udaipur ■won the Oaks in his colours in 1932, and in 1923 Teresina finished third. The Two Thousand Guineas was won by his colt Diophon in 1924, Gino being third in 1933, and Dastur second in 1932. Among the other great races won by the Aga Khan were —Woodcote Stakes, Coronation Cup, Coronation Stakes, Ascot Gold Cup, City and Suburban Stewards' Cup, Chester Vase, Manchester Cup, Chester Cup, Irish Derby, Irish Oaks. French Derby, July Stakes. Prince of Wales Stakes, Goodwood Cup,. National Breeders' Produce Stakes, Eclipsc Stakes. Champagne Stakes, Gimcrack Stakes, Jockey Club Stakes. Imperial Produce Stakes. Cesarewitch, Champion Stake, Middle Park Plate and Dewhurst Plate.
