CHAMPION CATS.
PERSIAN CLUB'S SHOW. RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED. RESULTS OF THE JUDGING. Some of the finest cats in the Auckland province were shown this afternoon in the Unity Hall, where the New Zealand Pekingese and Persian Cat Club staged the championship cat show. There were black cats, red ones, grey, white —in fact, i you could Eoe a cat of almost any hue, kitten and veteran cats and cats of all sizes. The chili received a record entry of 100 exhibits, and the show -was the most successful ever held, the standard being exceptionally high. Mrs. L. G. Forrest, the senior official cat judge of New South Wales, was specially brought over from Sydney to adjudicate. The awards were as follow:— SPECIAL PHIZES. Best Long-haired White.—Mrs. Taylor's Chorio of Lindisfarne. • Best Opposite Sex. —Mrs. Taylor's Sunny Boy of Limlisfarne. Best Long-haired Black.—Mrs. Taylor's Midnight of Lindisfarne. Best Long-haired Red.—Mrs. Sutton's Lion. Best. Long-haired Silver Tabby.—Mrs. Taylor's Champion Digger 11. Best Short-liaired Black Cat.—Mrs. Baxter's Peter.
