FATAL CRASH.
MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED.
COLLISION WITH MOTOR CAR.

John McMahon, aged about 30 years, a eharemilker, died in the Hawera Hospital early yesterday morning following extensive head injuries which he received in a collision late on Saturday afternoon near Hawera, between a motor cycle he was riding and a motor
Mr. McMahon was travelling along towards Hawera, and Mr. D. Hurley was returning with his family from Hawera to Hurleyville in a sedan car. The vehicles came into collision as the car approached the top of a rise about a mile south of Hawera.
The impact threw the cyclist off his machine and tore both door handles off the car, besides damaging the running board and back mudguard. Mr. Hurley pulled up the car promptly, and none of the passengers was hurt.
Dr. A. M. Young was sent for, and Mr. McMahon was taken to hospital, where death occurred at 12.5 a.m.
