WHITE ISLAND ACTIVE.
CLOUDS OF GREAT HEIGHT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, this day. White Island showed considerable activity throughout Saturday, huge clouds of vapour ascending to a great height. The island presented a wonderful sight at sunset, when a great cloud turned blood red, probably due to red oxide dust above the island.
