NEW JUDGE.
LAW SOCIETY WELCOME. The members of the council of the Auckland District Law Society waited on hi=j Honor Mr. Justice Fair in his chambers at the Supreme Court this morning. Mr. L. K. Munro, vice-presi-dent of the society, in the absence of the president, Mr. Finlay, who is engaged on the Native Commission, welcomed his Honor to Auckland on behalf of practitioners in the Auckland district. His Honor, in thanking , the members, stated that his relations with the profession had, during the short time lie had been on the Bench, been of a most friendly nature, and he had every hope that tliey would continue to be so,
