BACK COTTNTRY BAPTISM. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) . CHRISTCHURCH, this day, ' Reference to a baptism by a justice of the peace in the back country of North Canterbury was made in the report of the Public Questions Committee, received at to-day's meeting of the Christehurch Presbytery. The report stated tliat it had been declared that provision existed for baptisms by justices of the peace where no minister was available. Inquiries had been made from the clerk of Assembly, who replied that as far as he could ascertain, no' legal provision of the sort existed.
