GREAT PREPARATION.
Russian Troop Movements to Far East. " DEFENSIVE ACTIVITY." LONDON, June 12. A correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" who recently traversed the Siberian railway describes the intense military preparations being made from Irkutsk to the Manchurian • frontier. Trains are rolling eastward crowded with troops, munitions and guns, says the writer.
The Russians have not raised any objection to passengers watching the movements of troops, but have insisted that all the activities are purely defensive. The correspondent says he is reliably informed that the Soviet now has 4000 aeroplanes and 300,000 troops in Siberia.
