TRIALS AT TE RAPA. WORTHY KING AND ANAGRAM. HAMILTON, this day. The going was holding at Te Papa yesterday morning, ■when candidates with engagements at Tc Awauiutu were sent along on the course proper 40ft out. The best gallop was credited to Worthy King. Anagram was a length in front of Beau Valet and Silver Wattle at the conclusion of live furlongs in 1.9 1-5. Anagram is in great nick for Saturday. Worthy King (alone} slipped over five furlongs in 1.9, the first half-mile taking 53 l-ss. He is to 'lave his first start at Te Awamutu and is in good heart for his engagement. Silver Briar negotiated a similar distance in 1.10. King Key was timed to reach home from the five-furlong peg in 1.12%. Tradesman, who is to have his first start over a mile and a quarter' at Te Awamutu, was not doing his best to get to the end of a round in 2.17. the first seven furlongs in 1.41. Riding engagements at Te Awamutu are: T. Green, Anagram and Tradesman; J. Smith. Simeon and Cordon; R. Syme, Silver Division; J. Winder, Cruachan. v RIDING ENGAGEMENTS. Cameron, Solarium; S. "Tremain, JSiotamiut, Tin Lap, Pelagia; A. G. Parsons, Record Flight; C. Browne, frince Viil, Sweet Lap, Crimestor. SCRATCHING. Mungatoon was scratched at 10.50 a.m. yesterday for the Woodstock Stakes. TE AWAMUTU TRACKS. CANDIDATES FOR WAIPA. PROTOMINT'S GOOD MILE. ' In view of the approaching Waipa meeting much interest is being taken in the track work of the Te Awamutu candidates, all of whom are in excellent fettle to contest their various engagements and should acquit themselves well. Yesterday morning the course proper was available for fast work, the flags being out about 30ft from the rails. The going was holding, but in spite 'of this several useful efforts were witnessed and good times were recorded. Other tracks in use were the hurdle grass, inner, grass and plough. Schooling fences were erected on the hurdle track. The best gallops of the morning were those of Protomint, Trishna and Solarium. Course Proper.

The first out on this track was Rulable, who ran home from the two-furlong peg in 28s. Protomint gave a lot of trouble before being got away from the mile barrier, but when lie left he hit out nicely and after running the first three furlongs in 40 3-5s continued on to complete his task in 1.51 3-5. This fellow shows no illeffects of his recent racing and should show to advantage.. A pleasing task was done by Arawa Rose, who had the maiden Sweet Rose as a companion over four furlongs. They ran the distance in 50 2-ss, Arawa Rose having had a slight advantage. Solarium had Trishna as a companion over one mile and a quarter. They finished together to take 2.18. The first half was run in 565, the mile in 1.49 3-5. Both were doing their work nicely. Hakanoa and Safe Bank were allotted five furlongs, which they completed in 1.7 2-5. Both were stopping on the post. Te Taua and Rex Victor were on terms at the conclusion of half a mile, which occupied 525. Kanapa had a slight advantage over Tuaheahe at the finish of five furlongs in 1.7. Loombination was sent, alone over three furlongs, which he completed in 40s. This fellow has come through his racing well and has bright prospects on Saturday.

On the hurdle track On Approval was sent over three fences and although he jumped carefully his display was not impressive. ' .....
