WIN AND PLACE BETTING.
The win-and-plaee system is evidently in favour with Dunedin racegoers, and the club is not likely to make any change while it'produces the good results that have attended the club's season just closed: llr. A. C. Hanlon, K.C., president of the club, is a keen supporter of the system, and in his Opinion many of the clubs that have reverted to the two dividends will return to win-and-place during the forthcoming season. He considers the agitation against wiu-and-place emanates mainly from the so-e;illed bin speculators, but • figures--.taken -at recent meetings have shown.that this class'represents loss than ."'■-'' ln ,Pev cent of the betting public.
