MINING CLAIMS.
APPLICATIONS GRANTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. In the Warden's Court this morning Norman E. Heath, of Auckland, company manager, applied for six months' protection for the Waihi Central claim. The grounds of the application were the completion of the geophysical survey now being conducted in Waihi. The raising of capital for the development of the work could not be undertaken until the result of the survey was known. The application was granted. Applications by the Waihi and Waihi Grand Junction companies for prospecting licenses covering over 400 acres were granted. These areas, formerly held as mining claime, were required for the purpose of geophysical survey, and lie north and east of the Waihi Company's boundaries. . ,
