CLUB. MOANA TAMA TAKES STAKES. PRAIRIE KING SCORES AGAIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Saturday. The Ashburton Trotting Club's winter meeting was held to-day. The weather was fair, but cold at the start, and after the fourth race heavy rain, hail and sleet made conditions bad. There was a large attendance. The course was slightly holding at the start, and was a quagmire at the finish. The totalisator handled £10,8<S<i, compared with £14,855 last year. Indianapolis did not attempt the mile record. Modern Lady (Longbcach), Dundee (Trial) and Harvest Child (County) won the three opening events. Later results: — NEW ZEALAND SAPLING STAKES of £850.
