AUCKLAND CLUB.
ACTIVITIES IN DUNEDIN. The Auckland Club in Duncdin is attracting the eager interest of the southern city's ex-Auckland, citizens, a fact which is manifesting itself in the continual increase of the club's membership. One of the most helpful enthusiasts is the Eev. E. T. Cox, Mayor of Duncdin, vice-patron of the club, an ex-Aucklander of 15 years' residence. / At a recent gathering members bade farewell to their popular president, Mr. T. J. Kirk-Burnnand, prior to his departure for Auckland, as programme director for IYA. Appreciation of Mr. Kirk-Buinnand's part as one" of the chief promoters in forming the club was expressed 'by the vice-president, Mr. Ernest Griflin.
The third social of the club, was held on May 10, when the host and hostess wore ill". IT. H. Osborne (vice-president), and Mrs. Osborne. Mr. E. Griffin made appreciative reference to the work of Mr. K. N.,Bennett as secretary, pro tem, who had relinquished the post through pressure of business. He then introduced the new secretary, Mr. H. An enjoyable programme of musical items was contributed' by Miss Angela Ilendry and Messrs. Duerdon and Stewart, the accompaniments being artistically played by Mrs. Kirk-Burn-nand and Miss Olive West. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. E. Griffin, air. and Mrs. E. R. Rout, Mr. and Mrs. 11. Powell, Mr. and Mrs. H. Sinton, Mr. and Mrs. Hazard, Mr. and Mrs. Ashworth, Mr. and Mrs. McCormack, Mr., Mrs. and Mies Cleary, Mrs. 11. Urquliart, Misses E. Griffin, R. Phillips, Carty, Castle, Pike, Hessan, Crawford, Crawshaw, Lamb, Gumming, S. and B. Rcid, and Messrs. Griffin, Crump, Rudd, Letcher, Dennis and Long.
