SAFE BLOWERS.
ROTORUA SENSATION. BUS COMPANY'S PREMISES. TOWN WATCHMAN'S ARRIVAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) EOTORUA, this day. Safe blowers attempted a robbery at the premises of the Eotorua Bus Company last night. They forced open the front door with a jemmy, got through a window "into the office, plugged the safe lock with gelignite, and piled coats and other articles round the safe to deaden the sound. The firing of the first charge called the attention of the town watchman, who, thinking he heard a noise in the Bus Company's building, opened the door with his own keys. The watchman was evidently heard by the burglars, who dashed through a window at the back of the garage and escaped. T The effort to open the safe was unsuccessful, but it is believed that a second charge of gelignite has been left in the lock.
