WOOL VALUES.
NAPIER SALE TO-DAY. PAR WITH WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. Values 011 a par with last Wellington sale, and from parity to a shade easier on Napier February rates, ruled at the fourth Napier wool sale this morning. There was good competition from all buying sources, bidding being exceptionally well distributed. The quality of the offering was mixed, comprising back country wools, late shorn and in heavy condition, and a large proportion of held-over wool. Buyers stated that the quality of lambs' wool was somewhat disappointing. Passings were fairly frequent after the first catalogue, in which practically no lots were passed. Bradford provided better competition than at the previous Napier sales, Continental sources working on lambs' wool and pieces. The latter were a shade easier than last sale. Finer wools in sopie cases showed improvement on Wellington. A Later Message. Selling throughout the morning session of the Napier wool sale continued on a parity with Wellington, with, however, a variable tone becoming more apparent. It is estimated that lambs' wool is up to a penny easier than February Napier rates, and piece wools eased approximately a halfpenny.
