PREPARE FOR TUSSLE.
POLAR EXPEDITION SHIP. OVERHAUL DURING WINTER. (By Telegraph.—Spcclal to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. The Byrd expedition supply ship Bear of Oakland was brought to Dunedin yesterday and berthed at the Rattray Street wharf, where she will be laid up for the winter.
The vessel was brought to town for reasons of convenience, and will be thoroughly overhauled by her crew, in preparation for her tussle with the ice next summer. She will be docked at Port Chalmers about September and will probably sail for the polar regions in December.
