SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION".
The quarterly meeting of the Auckland Schools Committees' Association was held on Wednesday, the chairman, Mr. A. Roberts, presiding.
It was dccided to support a remit from the Manurewa committee commenting upon the action of the Government in refusing admission of children five years of age to the schools. The remit saic! that the Government was apparently anxious to employ teachers who had been unemployed, and they could give a national service in teaching young children.
Support was given a remit from the Auckland Headmasters' Association in regard to restoration of grants for handwork material, and to a remit from the Belmont committee on the same subject.
The Mount Eden Committee recommended synchronisation of primary and secondary school holidays. It was dccided to support the recommendation.
