ANNUAL TOURNEY AT CARLTON ONLY FIVE SURVIVE YESTERDAY. Twenty-eight players took part in the annual champion of champions bowling tournament, which commenced in fine weather at the Carlton green yesterday. After five rounds had been completed no less than 23 competitors had lost their final chance of being champion bowler of the Auckland Centre.

Tho semi-final of the championship banner full-rink competition, conducted by tho North Auckland Bowling Centre, was played on the Wlmngarei Bowling Club's green yesterday between teams representing the Kensington and Whangarel Clubs. After a keenly-contested game the Whangarei tenm won by nine points. Scores: — Kokleli, Telfer, Morrlsli, Piggott (Whangarei) 20, v. Barclay, McMath, Walker, Jones (Kensington) 11. The winning team will play the Dargavilie Club's team at Dargavlllc this afternoon In tho linal.
