(From Our Own Correspondent.) t SUVA, March 15. r As a younger sister* Fiji bears no animosity to Queensland for. leading fpr so many years a- bitter war against -the admission of Fiji bananas into Australia. This was shown lately when the Queensland Government requested that a consignment of suckers of. the" Veimama variety (a cross between the wellknown Grow Michel and the China or Cavendish banana) be sent along 1 . The Fiji 'Government arranged the shipment.; and ,ihey were shipped 'per the Waipahi. '-'Tlien the banana people heard of 'the "shipment too late to stop its export. They hurriedly convened a. meeting and with the two local .parliamentary representatives waited upon the Acting-Governor and protested against the shipment, which was to supply the enemy with a powerful'weapon to further fight Fiji fruit.

The Banana Association asked that tile shipment be Stopped at JAugJclajJd, jjul the acting-Governor finally agreed to dispatch a wireless • message' to - His Excellency, who was even then returning from liis visit to New Zealand and Australia. How the matter will end has not yet been disclosed, but banana men are annoyed at the action of- the Government without even consulting those most vitally interested. ' "
