CROQUET CLUB.

The Stanley Bay Croquet Club lawns were filled with members yesterday afternoon, when the president, Mrs. W. V. Bremner, gave an At Home. A progressive croquet tournament was played, the prize-winners being Mrs. Hughes (highest number) and Mrs. Baker (consolation prize). Mrs. Bremner received the guests in an ensemble of black marocain patterned with orange and green, and a green velonr hat. The tea was served in the pavilion, the table looking gay with the club's colours in asters. Mrs. J. C. Badeley, president of the Auckland Croquet Club Association, thanked Mrs. Bremner for the function, and Mrs. T. A. Finch, assistant secretary of the Auckland Croquet Association, congratulated the members on having won the pennant for the C grade in the inter-club matchcs recently held in Auckland. Brie£ speeches were also made by Mrs. Bremner and Mrs. A. Callan, vice-president of the club. Among those present were: Mesdauies C. Badeley, T. A. Finch, L. Cusworth (secretary), A. Callan, D. Jones, Weller, D. R. Salmon, H. Jorring, C. L. Ross, Chapman, B. Lock, D. Hughes, S. Clarke, Darroch, S. McMasters, F. Baker, Wrigley, W. Darroch, Donaldson, J. Robertson, Wyatt, Grinter, A. J. Parker, F. Baker Powell, and Miss Burgess.
