LABOUR POLICY.
EIGHT MAIN OBJECTIVES. MR. SAVAGE'S ADDRESS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTC'HURCH, Wednesday. The policy of the New Zealand Labour party has been summarised into eight main objectives by the recentlyappointed party leader, Mr. M. "j. Savage. In his address here to-night Air. Savage stated the policy as follows: (1) To establish a monetary system in the Dominion which will be based on goods and services, and, as goods and services are produced, their monetary equivalent shall be made available to the people. (2) To provide a living standard within the Dominion in accordance with the people's power to produce goods and services, and to safeguard those standards against the evil influences of external competition. (3) To develop a planned system of production, primary and secondary, in which due consideration will be given to natural resources, the Dominion's external financial obligations, and the country's ability to make economic trade agreements with Britain and other countries. (4) To establish internal price levels ■which will be supported by guaranteed prices over the whole Held of production, and which will include wage and salary rates. (5) To establish a national Jiealth service based oil universal insurance. (0) The development of the pensions system to provide—by pension or superannuation—a full standard of living for all citizens on reaching the retiring age or invalidity. (7) Extension of the education system to provide free education and equipment from the kindergarten to the university. (8) Rehabilitation in industry and publie works of all workers at present employed on relief works and the payment of standard rates of pay.
