ARCHBISHOP REDWOOD.
I _ All section.s of the community will join jwith our Roman Catholic friends in their joy in celebrating the diamond jubilee of Archbishop Redwood. This aged prelate, though not a New Zealander by birth, is to all intents a New Zealander. To-day he occupies the proud position of being the oldest bishop in the world. Let us think for one moment: this grand old man of New Zealand has held the commission to baptise, absolve and hies* longer than any priest in the world. One hopes that the Christian Church that he has served so faithfully and that he so fully adorns will bestow her highest honour on him and that a cardinal's red will adorn this honourable archbishop during' his remaining years.; CATHOLIC (NOT ROMAN).
