NGATEA NEWS.
The Ngatea District High School held its second annual sports in the presence of a large gathering of parents. Very satisfactory business was done by the ladies of the district who conducted stalls in the school grounds. The stall holders were: I Produce, Mesdames Dunning and Phelps: sweets, Mesdames C. S. Foster, Burke and Davies: cakes, Mesdames Motioii, McDuff, Mahoney and Irwin; afternoon tea, Mesdames Douglas, Muggeridge, Robinson and Dalgety; jumble, Mesdames King, Darlington, Vowles; refreshments, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Sparrow; ice cream, Miss D. Dudding. The sports commenced at 9.30 a.m., and continued throughout the day, the championship events occupying the morning, and the novelty events the afternoon. The principal officers were: Judges, Messrs. XV. McDuff, H. Irwin and G. H. Robinson; course steward, Mr. J. W. Neate; starter, Mr. E. A. Mahoney. There was a large range of events for children of all ages, and some fine contests were witnessed.
