AUCKLAND CLUB. After a fortnight's inactivity through inclement weather, the Auckland Cycle Club at last managed to stage their events at the Papatoetoe Stadium banked track' on Saturday. Ideal conditions prevailed, and, with good fields engaged, the racing -was interesting. Results: — One Mile, Senior ('lB starters). —First heat: L. Cooper, 145 yds, 1; S. Hayes, '120 yds, 2; W. Hansen. 90yds, 3; A. Brass, 125 yds. 4. Time, 2.16 4-5.' Second heat: K. Matbieson, 60yds, 1; J. Cooney, .. 40yds, 2; S. Ward, 20yds, 3; R. Cray, 80 yds, 4. Time, 2.16 4-5. Final: S. Ward, 1; K. Mathieson, 2; R. Cray, 3; W. Hansen, 4. A splendid bunched finish, Ward shooting out in the last 10 yards to score by a -wheel, -with the third man half a , length back. Time, 2.17 2-5. Half-mile, Junior (eight starters). —W. Bicknell, 20yds, 1: L. Redfern, scr, 2; B. Harvey, 25yds, 3: R. Gibbs. syds, 4. Time, 1.9 2-5. The winner finished well, as did Redfern, the first-named scoring by a wheel, same distance third man. One Mile, Junior (seven starters). —B. Harvey, 50yds, 1; W. Bicknell, 45yds, 2; D. Redfern, eer, 3; B. Gibbs, scr, 4. Time,. 2.25. Harvey finished too well for Bicknellthis time, and won by a length; third man same distance away. . Three Miles " A Grade, Senior (nine starters). —J. Whitten, scr, 1; S. Litchfield, 40yds. 2; P. Bicknell. 110 yds, 3; S. Ward, 40yds, 4. Time, 7.21 4-5. Whitten, in the final lap, went away from the field, to win comfortably. Three Miles, B Grade, Senior (nine starters). —S. Weller, scr, 1; T. Brown, lS6yds, 2; S. Hayes, scr, 3. Time, 7.51. R. Watson finished second, but was disqualified. Won by a wheel, with inches between the others.
