MONOWAI PASSENGERS.
ARRIVALS FROM AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Several prominent people arrived at Wellington to-day by the Monowai from Sydney. Among them are the following: Dr. B. F. Brown, a well-known Melbourne dental surgeon, who intends touring the South Island; .Mr. T. Dangerlield, of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company, accompanied by his wife; Mr. I, Moltke, vice-consul for Denmark in Sydney, who is on a holiday visit to the Dominion. Dr. R. M. Campbell, private secretary to the Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, returned after a visit to Australia,
NEW P. AND O. LINER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) I WELLING TON, Tuesday. Advice has been received b}' the Hon. Alexander Shaw, chairman of the P. and 0. Company, that the Earl of Stratlunore, father of the Duchess of York, and owner of the historic Glamis Castle, has consented to have the new P. and 0. liner for the Indian-Austra-lian trade named after him.. Mr. Shaw, who arrived at Wellington by the Monowai, said the Stratlunore would be larger than either the Strathhaver or the Strathaird, the two 22,000ton liners now running to Australia. She would be principally for the Bombay express service, but would visit Australia in January, 1930.
