BANK BANDITS.
ROBBERIES STAGED. Policeman Killed in Attack With Machine-gun. BIG HAUL FOR FOUR CRIMES. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 2. Bandits staged four sensational daylight robberies in various parts of the nation to-day, stealing over 175,000 dollars in cash. One policeman was killed and several other persons were wounded or kidnapped.
At Pertsgrove, New Jersey, four gunmen escaped with 130,000 dollars, the payroll for Dupont and De Nemours, explosive manufacturers.
At Needham, Massachusetts, bandits equipped with a machine-gun, invaded a bank and started firing at random, killing a policeman and wounding three others. Xlicy escaped with 10,000 dollars.
A bank in Rochester, New York, was similarly invaded and 15,000 dollars were taken, but nobody was injured.
Finally, at Coleman, Texas, bandits stole 23,000 dollars from a bank. They covered their escape by kidnapping the entire staff of six clerks.
OUTRAGE IN IRELAND.
BANK ROBBED NEAR WEXFORD (Received 1.30 p.m.) DUBLIN, February 2. Six armed and masked men robbed a bank at Taghmon, near Wexford, to-day, securing £1000.
