FATALITY IN THE MATAITRA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. A man, aged 32 years, Mr. Jamea Hemmings, of Invercargill, was drowned while bathing in the Mataura River at Wyndham at 7.30 this evening.

THE LONG POINT TRAGEDY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. The body of Mr. Charles John Connell, tobacconist, who was drowned at Long Point, near Nuggets, on January 20, in an effort to save Mr. George Menzies and Mr. Gordon Sproat, who were also drowned, was recovered today at the spot where the tragedy occurred.
