GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY.
j The basis outlined by the Prime Minister (for the use of the geophysical survey by private companies should be satisfactory to them, and I hope it will lead to the testing of the reef country. When a description of these methods first appeared I talked it over with Thames people. The old hands on the Thames fields seemed to think that the country all along the Coromandel Eange was too broken by earth movements to be suitable for tests of this kind, but if they will test at depth many of us believe that good lodes will be located. The South has got in ahead of us this time, but all hope that the prospects turn out well. I hope to see the experts busy in the vicinity of Thames before long. PARAWAL
