MANY ACCIDENTS.
England's Densest Fog This Winter. BLANKET OVER LONDON. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 25. A fog of varying density covered London and the home counties yesterday. Later it spread over East England and the Midlands. In many parts the fog was the most dense experienced this winter. Later in the afternoon the visibility in the Wimbledon district was reduced to a few feet. Road and rail traffic was greatly hampered. Ships on the Thames were held at their anchorages and cross-river ferry services were suspended. There were many road accidents. In the afternoon the fog cleared in central London, but remained dense in some of the south-western suburbs.
