Heavy Death Roll in Terrible River Explosion. CHINESE SHIP DESTROYED. SHANGHAI, January 25. A river disaster is reported from Hankow. A Chinese steamer, the Weitung, plying on the Yangtse River, caught lite and the flames caused a boiler explosion. More than 200 passengers were precipitated into th© icy waters of the •iver and the vessel sank almost in mediately. The death roll exceeds ;,-,0. Many of the victims were burnt alive or suffocated.
