MARIPOSA IN PORT. MAGDALENE VINNENBERTHED A striking contrast in types is provided on the -K-aterfror.fr to-day. Tho modern liner MarTposa is berthed at. Prince's wharf, and at King's whart is the large sailing vessel Magdalene Vinnon. The cruisers return from the gulf this afternoon, and two other overseas vessels are due to-day. Mariposa arrived from San Francisco this morning, and is at the Princes wharf. She is to sail at 5 o'clock this evening for Sydney and Melbourne, will call at Auckland again on February 10 on her northward trip. (H. and M.) Magdalene Vinnen, the German fourmasted barque, arrived at 5.30 P- n) - yesterday, and is berthed at the King s wharf to unload 3000 tons of guano from Mahe, Seychelles Islands. A further 1000 tons is for discharge at New Plymouth. (W.E.L.) Golden Bear is expected at 6 o'clock this afternoon from Los Angeles with lumber and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports. Wanganella is to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland, where she is due to berth on Tuesday morning. She leaves the same evening for a cruise for Northern ports, after which she returns to Sydney. (H.P.) Fordsdale, completing loading at the Central wharf, is scheduled to sail at 5 p.m. to-morrow for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama. (A.S.P.) Mahana is due from Brisbane tomorrow evening to load for London. She sails Inter for Southern ports to complete her cargo. (L.D.N.) Avelona Star is now expected from South on Monday morning. She is to berth at the Central wharf for final loading for London. (W. and 8.F.) Matai is expected at 3 p.m. to-day from East Coast lighthouses and gulf beacons.
