SPIRITUAL NEEDS.
In Tuesday evening's "Star" there appeared a letter from a man in the Karangahake camp appealing for spiritual help. He says the camp has not received a visit from a single minister, priest or parson in the last six months. Surely the camps have been sadly neglected in this respect. He also complains that there is not a Bible in camp. I feel sure that if the Churches were to appeal through the "Star" for contributions of Bibles, Testaments and tracts there would be a great response from the Christian people of this city, and not only would the spiritual needs of tlie Karangahake camp be met in this way, but also the needs of other relief camps. There was an appeal some time ago for magazines, books, playing cards, etc., for relief camps, and the public responded generously. Surely man's spiritual needs are greater than his temporal needs.
